Computing and Robotics Outreach Club Projects
This page will outline the current projects which the UC Davis Computing and Robotics Outreach Club is organizing to help promote K-12 STEM Education.
UC Davis Annual Secondary School Programming Competition
The Computing and Robotics Outreach Club is heavily invovled with the planning for the Secondary School Programming Competition. Some of the work that will need to be done includes coming up with competition problems and solutions, refining the format of the competition, creating competition T-shirts, and much more.

UC Davis Robot Challenge Competition
In addition to help planning the Programming Competition, the Outreach Club will also be involved in the planning for the Robot Challenge Competition. Some of the tasks include finalizing the competition rules, fabricating the obstacle course that will be used for the competition, creating a competition T-shirt, and helping plan some of the logistics for the day of the competiton.
Supporting Local Schools
In addition to hosting the Secondary School Programming Competition and Robot Challenge Competition, the club assists local schools. This includes sending UC Davis students to visit local schools to assist implementation of programming and robotic courses, and talk about opportunities in college, especially related to STEM related fields. We are also interested in working on making teaching aids that might prove useful for programming and robotics classes.

Selection of NCWIT Award for Aspirations in Computing
The UC Davis C-STEM Center has teamed up with the National Center for Women & Information Technology (NCWIT) to give out the NCWIT Award for Aspirations in Computing. The award recognizes young women in high school based on their interest and achievements in computing related areas. The Computing and Robotics Outreach Club will be aiding in the selection of winners this year, and help out with the award ceremony that will be held during the C-STEM Day. More information about the award can be found here.
