Award of Perseverance

C-STEM Student Award of Perseverance recognizes middle and high-school students for their demonstrated perseverance and progress in computing and its applications in STEM subjects. An award recipient shall be motivated and shows exceptional perseverance and dedication to progressing and achieving in computing-STEM subjects and participation in C-STEM related activities.

Application

Due by May 1st of each year.  

Qualifications
  • Nominees must be middle or high school students from a school with C-STEM school annual subscription.
  • Nominees must be actively participating in the UC Davis C-STEM program.
  • Nominees have not received this award in the past.
  • Nominees demonstrate outstanding aptitude and interest in computing and STEM fields.
  • Nominees demonstrate strong progress in Computing, Math, STEM/Robotics through perseverance in C-STEM program.
  • For the C-STEM Perseverance Award, GPA is not a primary criterion; instead, emphasis is placed on perseverance, growth, and effort.
Nomination Process
  1. A nominator can be a C-STEM teacher or principal/administrator.
  2. Each nominator may nominate up to 2 students per academic year.
  3. Nominators ask nominee/s to complete the Student C-STEM Award Application. Nominee/s need to turn in his/her completed application to the nominator. If the student is applying for a scholarship, he/she needs to provide a copy of their official transcript.
  4. Nominators complete the Nominator C-STEM Award Application and upload:
    • Completed Student C-STEM Award Application
    • Nominator's letter of recommendation
  5. Once complete application has been received, C-STEM will notify the nominator and their nominee/s.
