Award of Excellence
C-STEM Award of Excellence recognizes high-school students for their demonstrated excellent performance on computing and its applications in STEM subjects. An award recipient shall be motivated and shows exceptional promise for pursuing post-secondary study in computing or computing-related STEM fields. An award recipient not only excels, but also helps others actively participate in computing and computing-related activities in STEM fields.
Application
Applications are due by February 1 each year.
Qualifications
- Nominees must be middle or high school students from a school with C-STEM school annual subscription.
- Nominees must be actively participating in the UC Davis C-STEM program.
- Nominees have not received this award in the past.
- Nominees demonstrate outstanding aptitude and interest in computing and STEM fields.
- Nominees demonstrate strong leadership qualities.
- Nominees has a good academic history, typically a GPA of 3.0 or better.
Nomination Process
- A nominator can be a C-STEM teacher or principal/administrator.
- Each nominator may nominate up to 2 students per academic year.
- Nominators ask nominee/s to complete the Student C-STEM Award Application. Nominee/s need to turn in his/her completed application to the nominator. If the student is applying for a scholarship, he/she needs to provide a copy of their official transcript.
- Nominators complete the Nominator C-STEM Award Application and upload:
- Completed Student C-STEM Award Application
- Student's official transcript (if applicable)
- Nominator's letter of recommendation
- Once complete application has been received, C-STEM will notify the nominator and their nominee/s.
