Manteca USD 2025 RoboPlay Challenge
2025 MUSD Robo Play Competition: A Huge Success!
On May 3, 2025, excitement and creativity filled the air as students from across Manteca Unified School District (MUSD) gathered for the annual RoboPlay Competition, an inspiring event that celebrates technological innovation and student-driven learning.
Hosted at Weston Ranch High School, the event brought together 18 teams composed of middle and high school students from across the district to showcase their coding and robotics skills. The competition is the culmination of a yearlong program supported by Manteca Unified in partnership with the University of California, Davis C-STEM Center and Barobo Inc. The RoboPlay Competition represents the hard work and learning that takes place throughout the school year using the C-STEM Roboblocky Math and Robotics curriculum. A high school Division Team B scored perfectly, proving that practice indeed pays off! These students have been participating in the after-school Robotics Club and practicing every Friday afternoon since November for RoboPlay.
Designed to inspire problem-solving, teamwork, and creative engineering, the competition provided students with the opportunity to compete with teams from other school sites. Every team must come up with solutions to the challenges using STEM, computer programming, and robotics skills. This integrated curriculum allows students to explore complex STEM concepts in an engaging and accessible way, using block-based coding and robotic programming to apply math and computational thinking to real-world scenarios. RoboPlay Challenge gives students a chance to see themselves as engineers, programmers, innovators and problem solvers. It’s more than a competition—it’s a celebration of what MUSD students can achieve with the right tools and support.
