Alvord USD RoboPlay Challenge 2025
A Successful 2nd Annual RoboPlay Challenge!
Alvord Unified School District successfully organized its 2nd Annual RoboPlay Challenge Competition on May 20 in Corona, CA. Over 110 third- and fourth-grade students competed, which was double the number of participants from the previous year. The La Sierra High School gym lit up with students’ excitement and energy. Newly appointed Superintendent Reggie Thompkins, Ed.D., stopped by to greet the volunteer judges and encourage student teams.

RoboPlay was organized by Robert Schwandt, Assistant Director of Technology, in collaboration with Davis Ferguson, Executive Director of the Expanded Learning Opportunities Program (ELOP). Kudos to the incredible teamwork that provides invaluable learning experiences for students, and to the Alvord staff, VAPA team, La Sierra High School Principal Tania Cabeza and staff, and community members.
