A Successful 1st RoboPlay Challenge Competition

In 2025, there were many new RoboPlay Challenge Competitions hosted by districts, including Fontana Unified School District's first RoboPlay on May 8, 2025. 20 student teams in grades 6–8th participated in the exciting event, showcasing their skills in coding and robotics through a series of complex, hands-on challenges.

The competition was a celebration of student learning and creativity. Families attended to cheer on participating 100 students who were engaged and eager to demonstrate what they had learned throughout the year. All competing students were enrolled in the district’s Integrated Coding & Computing course, a math intervention program that uses the RoboBlocky curriculum to build computational thinking and problem-solving skills. This event provided an opportunity for students to showcase their knowledge and skills in a real-world, team-based setting.

Special thanks to 20+ dedicated teachers and administrators who helped organize and judge the competition, making this event a true success and a shoutout to MTSS, Teaching & Learning Division for their support.
